RE: Letter of support.
To whom it may concern,
I had the privilege of working with Mr. Bob Mortenson from September 1997 to September 2000 in Afton, WY at Aviat Aircraft, Inc. Aviat manufactured and serviced the Pitts, Husky and Eagle II lines of aircraft. During that period of time, Bob was commissioned to manage our Factory Service Department.
Bob’s commitment to professionalism, safety and quality customer service gained both he and Aviat a very loyal following in the sport aviation arena. This level of commitment also led to a huge influx of revenue producing business for Aviat Aircraft Factory Service. Customer satisfaction was at an all time high.
Bob also spearheaded an unprecedented service program that promoted safety and awareness for our owner/pilots. He and members of his team would travel to aerobatic competitions across the country to help with tech inspections. Their goal was to make the owner/pilots aware of safety issues with their aircraft and to educate them about the little things to look for. In very short order, Bob was in great demand. His presence was requested at almost every competition. This program eventually won Aviat Aircraft the FAA Safety Award for the organization that does the most to promote aviation safety within the industry in any given year.
After leaving Aviat, Bob’s knowledge, professionalism and dedication to safety in General/Sport Aviation was missed. I think that I speak for a large group of people in supporting Bob and wishing him the best of luck in his new endeavor. I know that I will have no problem or hesitation in referring work to his facility.

Dear Bob,
I’m pleased to hear that you are coming back to support us and I am looking forward to seeing you at some of the competitions and airshows. I would like to be the first to welcome you back into the aerobatic industry. I’m glad to see you making a move into an area in need of quality services and professionalism.
Knowing your high level of standards and customer commitment, I believe you will find a number of Pitts owners around the country in desperate need of your services once you have opened the doors.
You also mentioned expanding your services into a variety of other aerobatic make models. I think this would be a great idea and have confidence that you would make that happen successfully.
Please stay in touch and let me know if there is anything I can do to help you along.

Dear Bob,
It is exciting to hear from you and to find that you are starting a new venture with your effort at a maintenance facility for aerobatic airplanes and fixing up what appears a sophisticated repair station in Montana.
I remember your efforts on the rejuvenation of my Pitts S-1 and it was outstanding. I brag about it to everybody that sees it and tell them all the tales about how well things worked out for me because of your guidance on it at the factory. In your capacity at the Pitts factory, you gave us outstanding service and true quality on the rebuild of 2711.
I think the biggest problem you will have with your new service would be some way to get the information out to the people that need to know that it is available. I hope that you see great things happen with your new interest and I’m sure that great things will happen because of your ability to organize and manage.
I hope you will stay in touch with me and let me know how things go on a continuing basis in Montana. If there is anything we can do to be of some assistance, please feel free to check with me.

To whom it may concern,
This letter is a recommendation for Bob Mortenson for reconstructing my OH-58 helicopter.
Bob was head mechanic and coordinator for the project. His quality of work and scheduling was very impressive, not only to myself, but to other aircraft personnel in the state of Idaho. The Bell Helicopter representatives have examined the OH-58 and I was told that it was the cleanest OH-58 in the states. Bob honored the service on the helicopter three years after construction.
Bob’s professionalism and honesty will keep him in good standing with Stutzman and any other client that he might work with in the future. I am proud to write this recommendation letter for a person with such good qualities.

Dear Bob,
I wanted to bring you up to date on the status of the Pitts that you put together for me a few years ago. The white and red Pitts is now sitting in the same Atlanta hanger as my restored J3 Cub. You gave me an excellent finished aircraft that was in show condition on delivery, and it looks the same today. I want to thank you again for all the extras that you included and the quality of the workmanship. The only change has been the inclusion of a 295 GPS that aided me on the flight from Phoenix.
Good to hear you’re starting a business to handle sport, race and antique aircraft mods and restoration. Believe me there is a shortage of qualified people that have the interest and skills to complete the many tasks involved. Here in Atlanta I have recommended your company to handle the modification of a single to two place Bueker. When pilots see the workmanship of my Pitts, they have all asked me where it was done.
Bob, feel free to use me as a reference for your new business. I will be glad to talk to and show others the complete restoration of the 1993 Pitts S-2B that I bid, bought, and brought to you after an emergency off field landing due to fuel exhaustion. Looking at the pictures and the truckload of remaining parts that I brought to you, this aircraft has turned out better than new.
Best wishes to you and your talented team in your new business and keep me informed of your progress and projects. I will send you some pictures of an original Newport antique aircraft and let me know if you folks would be interested in finishing this aircraft that will be sold to a western museum.
Take care and keep in touch.
